Eco-Innovative Commitment: Lead-Free, Moving Towards a Sustainable Future
Deceuninck recognizes its responsibility to the environment and we strive to minimize environmental impact in all our activities. We are constantly working to improve our energy efficiency, reduce waste, and promote the responsible use of natural resources. Through recycling initiatives, process innovation, and the adoption of sustainable technologies, we seek to actively contribute to the conservation of the environment and the construction of a more sustainable future.
“We design PVC products that are 100 percent recyclable, recycle with superior efficiency and produce new sustainable windows using fewer virgin raw materials.”
Our product ranges have received a VinylPlus® product label. This label confirms that our products and processes apply to the highest standards of quality, performance and sustainability.
Since 2000 the European Union formed the VINYL 2010 (The Voluntary Commitment of the European PVC Industry). This committee made up of organizations such as ECVM (European Council of Vinyl Manufacturers), ESPA (European Stabilizer Producers Associations) and EuPC (European Plastics Converters) committed to reduce the use of lead, known to be the most common heavy metal in the base of the year 2000 consumption with the objective of achieving a 100% reduction by 2015.
In 2015, Deceuninck quickly completed the actions to be carried out in accordance with the respective requirements of the European countries and which aim to contribute to a more livable world and a sustainable life for our children. To this end, we have been manufacturing environmentally friendly products since 2004 by using 100% recyclable TPE gaskets and never use lead or similar heavy metals in the products we manufacture. With the aim of leaving a sustainable world for future generations as an industry leader, Deceuninck manufactures profiles with environmentally friendly calcium-zinc stabilizers. This not only ensures environmentally friendly windows, but also compatibility with European standards, with no adverse effects for manufacturers and end users.
Deceuninck demonstrates its ongoing commitment to the environment and personal safety by ensuring that it has been lead-free in its PVC windows for many years, constantly seeking to improve and contribute to a more sustainable and safer future for all.
A PVC profile lasts 35 years and can be recycled at least eight times without loss of quality. This means that our PVC windows have a total service life of at least 300 years. At Deceuninck, we are committed to achieving 100% circularity and actively managing our carbon emissions.
In a continuous recycling cycle, the absence of lead in raw materials is crucial. We are committed to the environment, employing innovative technologies that ensure better manufacturing processes in our plants. This commitment drives us to constantly improve not only the quality of our products, but also our environmental impact, thus ensuring a sustainable and secure future for generations to come.
